Community Work

The firm has a strong commitment to good citizenship and community service. We are as dedicated to community work as to our client work. At BMR & Associates LLP, we embrace socially responsible thinking in every aspect of our business with a firm belief in giving back to the society that we have inherited. We have a deep commitment to areas that help in the long term building of the nation. Our teams are committed to causes of Education, Environment Sustainability, Blood Donation and Disaster Relief. These causes will not only build a skilled nation, but also help in increasing awareness and empathy in communities and individuals for a better and stronger India.

Education is integral to nation building. In the context of our young nation, it plays an important role in making everyone understand the strength of diversity and development of skills for its large population. A learned mind leads to active citizenship and appreciates equal opportunity. The right to education is also the fundamental right of every citizen. We are happy to play a role in building these crucial values.
  • BMR & Associates LLP has been supporting the education of 20 children living in SOS Children’s Village across India for the last four years. SOS Children’s Villages of India is a non-profit organisation working towards providing a loving home to children who have lost or are at a risk of losing the care of their parents. The approach is a long term family based system and SOS ensures that all children in its care receive the education and skill training they need to be successful, contributing members of society.
  • Our team of social champions spent a day in December 2015 with these 20 children spread across SOS Children’s Villages in Faridabad and Alibaug. With an intention to know them better and play a larger role in building their lives and careers, the team members engaged in sports activities and career counselling.
  • As part of a firm-wide initiative, BMR collected funds as employee contributions from across our five offices. This was done in support of the Umang Foundation, a registered Public Charitable Trust that provides educational material to underprivileged children across India under its flagship programme Promote Education 2015, also recognised as the largest stationery distribution drive in the country. Employees have contributed generously to the cause and personally distributed stationery to the children.
  • At BMR, charity begins at home. On the occasion of Diwali, the festival of giving, the Mumbai office organised a special lunch for 50 children from the local BMC school.
  • A BMR Team of 20 employees along with the Concern India Foundation participated in the TCS WORLD 10k RUN 2014 in Bengaluru. The money collected will be used for the education of underprivileged children.

Environment Sustainability

Environment sustainability is not only about preserving the capability of the environment on a long term basis, but also about making responsible decisions aiming at complete sustainability. We are conscious about building empathy in the minds of young citizens to judiciously use limited resources and develop new ideas for a sustainable future. The firm has a deep commitment to the environment and adopts environment friendly practices at the workplace. Go Green is a firm-wide initiative that embraces this idea and seeks to create a ‘culture of conservation’ within the BMR community. The goal is twofold: i.e. - to heighten awareness and participation of our people in environmentally responsible behaviour and to establish standards and procedures for putting in place environmentally responsible processes.

Leading with our environment conscience, we actively participate in key initiatives for ecological sustainability.
  • Million Trees Gurugram: an ambitious goal of planting a million trees in Gurugram, initiated by I Am Gurugram. Today, this is a large public-private initiative supported by the government, other Gurugram NGOs, corporates and civil society. BMR donated 700 trees to Million Trees Gurugram. Fifteen Green Champions from the Gurugram office planted trees at the Aravalli Biodiversity Park.
  • BMR supports the tree plantation drive by the Hope Foundation, Chennai.

Disaster Response

BMR & Associates LLP has always been at the forefront to extend a helping hand when the nation calls for it. The firm and its people have made significant contributions towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to provide timely relief and rehabilitation of communities affected by natural calamities. Supporting relief efforts in cases of disaster helps us give hope to the people who need it most. The idea of taking everyone along is truly close to our hearts.
  • As part of a firm-wide initiative, we collected employee contributions from across our five offices, augmented by the firm’s contribution, donating the sum to the PMNRF for the rehabilitation of earthquake survivors in India and Nepal.
  • The Jammu & Kashmir Flood Relief fundraising initiative received a stupendous response from employees. The firm topped the collection up to make a substantial contribution towards the PMNRF.
